Peas!

Since I've noticed lately that peas have become a very of-the-moment theme for baby showers (think SweetPea or A pea in the Pod), I couldn't resist posting these Peapod dishes from Pier 1. Aren't these adorable? Perfect for serving at a "Pea" themed baby shower!

Check out this lovely little SweetPea shower created by Joanna over at Let's Entertain.

PG is 33!

So my fiance(his initials are PG)just turned 33 and we had a little party for him over the weekend. Here are some pics of the "PG is 33" party. I made all of the decorations in his favorite color scheme- red, white and black.

Personalized cupcake toppers and confetti.

I made napkin rings and labels for the yummy candy jars!

And his "manly" PG is 33 banner.

Up close and personal

Yummy! Red velvet cupcakes with buttercream icing on my favorite cupcake tower.

And all of the food and drinks got labels like this one on the "PG Punch".

It was a great day and turning 33 wasn't so bad for my love after all.

Summer in the City

On the eve of a co-ed bridal shower that I will be attending tomorrow for one of my besties, Nicole, I thought I would post some inpsiration for those of you who may be planning a similar event over the next several weeks. This "Summer in the City" theme came from one of my fave websites PartySpot.

There is so much you can do with this theme, indoors or out. I especially love the idea of filling a kiddie pool with ice and using it as a drink tub.

And these adorable firefly lantern centerpieces made out of Mason jars. Luvs it!

Pottery Barn Party Planner

Has anyone seen the new party planner section of the Pottery Barn website? Just thought I'd share this little treasure that I came across. They have party planning ideas and details along with great visuals for a Movie Night, a Cocktail Party, a Wine & Cheese Party, a Cocktail Party, a Tequila Party (Margaritas-YUM!), and a Bridal Shower. Check it out!

Entering the Blogosphere

Ok. So here it goes...my first attempt at entering the "blogosphere". I have decided to start this blog to discuss all the fun projects I'm working on in my new venture Soiree Design or SD as I affectionately call it. I'm jumping in head first with this business of all things party and event related. I love, love, love to plan and design parties- creating any and everything possible to customize an event - from banners, favors, signs, tablescapes, etc. I'll be starting out on Etsy so once my shop is completely up and running I'll let you know.

I am currently pregnant with my first child (it's a boy) and have been having so much fun creating things for my shower that I can't contain myself. I figured why not help other people do this for their events. So in the coming posts I'll show you what I've been putting together for my shower (which my Mama is actually throwing for me) in case you thought I was tacky enough to through my own shower! And I'm also in the process of creating unique custom party collections for a few friends. Stay tuned...pictures coming soon!
